20 Reasons To Become A NZKWF Member
1. Belong to a credible and ethical organization that:
(a) Is recognized by Sport New Zealand as the only National Sport Organization (NSO) and Peak Governing Body for all forms of Sport and Traditional Kung-Fu Wushu in New Zealand, since 2007 and re-recognized in 2025.
(b) Is recognized by the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) as the only Associate Member for Kung-Fu Wushu in New Zealand since 2008.
(c) Is recognized by the International Wushu Federation as the only Official New Zealand Representative since 1990 and by Kung Fu Wushu Oceania since 1998.
2. Belong to a genuine, professional, democratic and inclusive National Sport Federation that welcomes and embraces all forms of Sport and Traditional Kung-Fu Wushu, with a progressive, strong and innovative Executive Team with a clear vision for the future.
3. Eligible for selection as a member of the New Zealand National Kung-Fu Wushu Team to represent New Zealand at Continental & International Competitions.
4. Eligible to attend Continental and International Kung-Fu Wushu Competitions and Events as an Official Observer with the New Zealand Delegation.
5. Eligible to participate in Federation run Sport and Traditional Kung-Fu Wushu Competitions, Seminars, Workshops, Festivals, and other Events.
6. Eligible for Athlete, Coach and Judge Development Pathways including National, Continental and International Certification, Achievement and Organizational Roles, and access to Chinese Wushu Association Duan Grading Examinations.
7. Opportunity to develop skills and experience in Sports Management on Judges, Athletes and Technical Committees, or in Specialist or Advisory roles.
8. Improved access to community grant funding for Kung-Fu Wushu New Zealand member clubs.
