Membership Conditions
In applying for membership (new or renewal) the applicant agrees in full to the following:
1. Abide by the terms and conditions in the New Zealand Kung-Fu Wushu Federation (Federation) Policies, including Member Protection Policy; Child Protection Policy; Complaints and Dispute Resolution Policy; Anti-Corruption Policy; and Competition Manipulation Policy. Plus, Internal Discipline, Appeals & Ethics Committee Procedures & Anti-Doping Policy.
2. Unless otherwise agreed or stated, membership of a club or individual is compulsory in order to participate in any Federation, Oceania or International sport kung-fu wushu competition, festival, seminar, workshop or other event.
3. Participants in Oceania events must have New Zealand Permanent Residency or New Zealand Citizenship, while participants in IWUF events must have New Zealand Citizenship, and have their principal place of residence as New Zealand for two years immediately prior to the date of competition.
4. Actively support and promote the Federation including its competitions and events.
5. Seek prior permission from the Federation Executive to use the Federation Name or Logo.
6. Payment of membership fee is due at the time of application, and thereafter by 31st March each subsequent year. Membership paid between 1 Jan and 30 Jun will be for the full annual amount and cover the period to 31 Dec of the same year. Members who join between 1 Jul and 31 Dec shall pay half the annual amount, with the full amount due 1 Jan the following year.
7. Membership is only ‘Active’ when the current subscription and any arrears have been paid in full, otherwise such membership shall be deemed ‘Passive’ with no voting or other rights, until all arrears are paid in full.
8. New members must submit (if requested) their martial arts resume with passport size photo and agree to provide verification of content. Renewing members to provide (if requested) an updated resume where appropriate.
9. Subject to funding/availability; new members will be issued a membership card, the cost of which is included in the membership fee. Lost/replacement cards will incur a $10 fee plus postage.
10. Disclose the nature and date of any criminal convictions that might adversely impact the credibility, operation or public perception of the NZKWF.
11. Disclose whether as the applicant, or your organisation, or any of its principal members, have ever been refused membership or expelled, or been the subject of a membership suspension or conditional expulsion order, from any other martial arts organization.
12. Disclose your association to, or any positions held, in any other martial arts organization/s.
13. The Federation Executive reserves the right to request or obtain through its own means, additional information relating to any disclosure and/or take into account any information contained in the disclosure or obtained thereafter, in its decision whether to approve, decline or make provisional, any application for membership.
14. Any information in a member's application that is proven to be false or deliberately misleading may result in the application being declined, or membership of the applicant and their club being terminated without refund.
15. Behave in a manner so as to preserve the integrity and values of sport Kung-Fu Wushu and Traditional Chinese Martial Arts and the Federation, and to safeguard the interests and well-being of the public at large.
16. Any attempt to undermine the integrity and values of the Federation or its officials and officeholders may result in disciplinary action and/or suspension or disqualification of membership without refund.
17. The decision of the Federation Executive on any application for membership shall be final and not subject to appeal.
