CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION
On 18 July 1995, the first National Body of the Federation, then called, the New Zealand Chinese Martial Arts-International Wushu Council Inc (NZCMA-IWC), became Incorporated under the New Zealand Incorporated Societies Act 1908.
On 18 July 2005 the Federation changed its formal name and Incorporated Society name to the New Zealand Kung-Fu Wushu Federation and has maintained its Incorporated status since.
As part of maintaining its Incorporated Society Status, the Federation submits its Annual Financial Return to the Registrar of Incorporated Societies every year. The Federation’s Incorporated Society Number is 642258.
Reregistration - Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (2022 Act):
It was agreed at the Federation’s 2024 AGM to consider (during 2025) whether being an Incorporated Society remains the appropriate structure for the Federation, or whether a Registered Charity or Charitable Trust might be more suitable.
A decision was made at the Dec 2025 AGM for the Federation to remain an Incorporated Society under the Incorporated Society Act 2022, but to also register as a Charitable Entity under the Charities' Act 2005. The deadline for doing this is before 5 Apr 2026.
The Federation/Societies' re-registration under the Incorporated Societies' 2022 Act was approved on 3 Feb 2026.
