ABOUT the New Zealand Kung-Fu Wushu Federation Inc. (NZKWF)

International Status

The New Zealand Kung-Fu Wushu Federation (NZKWF), first known as the Wellington Region Chinese Martial Arts Association, was among the 31 countries and territories present at the inaugural meeting of the International Wushu Federation (IWUF).

National Status

The New Zealand Kung-Fu Wushu Federation has undergone several stages of evolution as it has matured into a government recognised National Sport Organization (NSO) by Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC). The dates and organisations below depict the evolution of the NZKWF and significant historical development of wushu in New Zealand and Oceania, since the formation of the IWUF in 1990. The NZKWF still has many of its foundation members, which is a sign of strong loyalty and  commitment.
